Trump Threatens Tough Action as US Ramps Up Military Pressure on Iran
Threatening war with Iran, President Donald Trump declared that "the U.S. will be doing something very tough" if no agreement on nuclear enrichment and ballistic missiles is reached. The U.S. has deployed a "massive armada" to the Middle East, including an aircraft carrier named the USS Abraham Lincoln, while thinking about sending a second one. This comes at a time when Iran is facing violent crackdowns on the "maximum pressure" campaign of drastic sanctions and support for anti-government protests. Of particular note are Trump's demands that include the complete end of uranium enrichment as well as cutting all ties with regional proxies, which are heavily supported by Israel.
